Includes (1) Letter to La Trobe from E.B. Sykes, Downing Street, 1858 Dec. 7, notifying that the Order of the Bath is to be granted; (2) Letter from Albert W. Woods, Heralds' College, 1859 Jan. 31, transmitting the warrant, badge and ribband; (3) Warrant of the Order of the Companion of the Bath. Signed by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert; (4) Letter from Albert W. Woods to G. Gairdner, Heralds' College, 1859 Feb. 19, requesting Gairdner to forward the grant and insignia to La Trobe; (5) Envelope, with the note "Warrant, etc. Companionship of the Order of the Bath, Nov. 30. 1858" in La Trobe's hand; (6) Insignia of a Companion of the Order of the Bath, conferred on C.J. La Trobe.
